Soybean, lovely soybean.

Who would have ever thought that the extremely versatile Soybean would start out as such a beautiful, lush, delicately leaved plant. As you can see by the picture posted, the Soybean crop lends itself to a beautiful, almost velvet like landscape. I live in a largely agricultural area & have often taken for granted the crops growing as I fly by on the County Roads or Highway. That is until I find myself passing the Soybean.

My husband has always found this amusing about me. Especially since, from the day we met, I have had the opportunity to appreciate several different forms of crop, especially since this is what he primarily does for a living. The choices range from Rice, Milo, Corn, Cotton & recently the Soybean.

So the next time you pick up a bottle of Vegetable Oil at your local grocer for that next batch of soap or enjoy an order of Edemame at your favorite Japanese restaurant, remember the beautiful Soybean plant & the abundant gifts it has to give.
